Exercise Physiology for Veterans (DVA)

Can Veterans Access EP Services?

Veterans may be eligible for Exercise Physiology services through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), depending on their card status.

  • Gold Card holders: Fully covered for clinically necessary Exercise Physiology services.

  • White Card holders: May be eligible if the treatment is for an accepted condition.

There is NO gap fee for DVA card holders.

If I’m a White Card holder, how do I check if my condition qualifies for EP?

Your eligibility depends on whether DVA recognises your condition as service-related.

To confirm, check with DVA or speak with your GP, who can help determine if Exercise Physiology is included in your approved treatment options.

A Treatment Prior Financial Approval Request Form must be completed and approved before sessions can commence.

Can DVA fund home visits if I can’t travel?

In certain cases, DVA may cover home-based Exercise Physiology sessions if travel is difficult due to medical or mobility issues.

Your GP or treating provider can discuss whether this option is available for you.

Ares Strength Rehab provides home visits in the Melbourne's North-Western suburbs, including:

  • Keilor

  • Essondon

  • Avondale Heights

  • Sydenham

  • Tullamarine
